Jodi Forsyth and Amy Brown have been working together for more than 15 years and have just celebrated the one-year anniversary of their own design studio, Forsyth & Brown. With a long history of successful projects in Jackson Hole, the pair has found an audience outside the area as well. “We really make an effort to know our clientele,” Amy says, “to understand their vision and how they live, wherever that may be.” “It’s a chemistry thing,” notes Jodi. “We want to pull together a design that is professionally thought through and capably reflects their vision.”
1. Table Lamp
“Stephen Gerould makes classically designed, beautifully made ceramic lamps in a variety of glazes and finishes,” says Amy. “This piece is transitional and will work in both traditional and contemporary settings. This is a go-to type of piece for us.”
2. Room with a View
“We encourage our clients to invest in the finishing touches for their windows,” Jodi says. Using grass shades for texture and screening, there’s still a sense of the exterior view. Adding drapery panels and hardware lends color and softness, not to mention a polished look.
3. Antlers!
Antlers are classic Jackson Hole. Used sparingly and in the right situation, they can be a dramatic and effective accent in a contemporary or Western home.
4. The Madison
Made by Edward Ferrell and Lewis Mittman, this sofa, upholstered in a linen velvet, is timeless. Accented with stylish pillows and throws, it’s at home in any setting. “It’s a great piece to build a room around,” says Amy.
5. Leather Chair
This nicely scaled club chair is another versatile piece. Appointed in rich brown leather with nailhead accents, it only gets better with time. “Another classic piece,” says Jodi, “one that can be used in any room in the house.” The Phelps club chair is from Dessin Fournir.
